Ready Steady Nursery
Learning to communicate is very important and one way of helping your child’s communication skills is through singing Nursery rhymes. It’s important that you sing Nursery rhymes in a quiet and distraction free environment to help your child listen to the rhymes and join in.
Your child needs lots of opportunities to develop physically. There are links between a child’s physical ability and their ability to learn. During summer, try to provide a range of opportunities for your child to run, hop, jump, climb, crawl and use cutlery. There are lots of fun rhymes which include opportunities for your child to move.
The following documents ‘The Power of Talk’ and ‘Moving to Learn’ provide additional information on how to support your child and prepare them….Ready, Steady, Nursery!
Handy Hints for Starting School Guide has been prepared by Nana's Manners to help prepare your child for nursery and school.
Getting Ready for Nursery
The following leaflets have been produced by PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years) giving information and advice for preparing your child for nursery and school.
