About Us

Welcome to Holy Trinity Primary School, A Church of England Academy.

Holy Trinity School was first established in 1813. For many years Holy Trinity had a separate Infant and Junior school. In 1997 they became one school and in July 2012 Holy Trinity converted to an Academy. In September 2007 we moved into our new building.

We are immensely proud of our school building and grounds. We have 18 teaching rooms, each equipped with an interactive whiteboard, 7 group rooms, a large hall and apse which can be divided into 3 separate teaching areas, a large resource centre including a library, a nurture suite and 31 place ICT suite.

Although our building is on two floors, both are accessible from ground level due to the slope on the land. We also have an internal lift and a well equipped medical room. Each class has two sessions a week in our computer suite and we have IPADS shared across school to use within the classroom environment. We have separate outside play areas for nursery and reception, and a large playground and trim trail. The playground has numerous markings, based on the national curriculum, which enable the children to learn at playtime and can be utilised for outside lessons. In addition we have a large sports field, and a MUGA pitch that is used for PE, after school clubs, and sports activities. We have a fantastic outdoor ‘Nature Area’ with woodland and wheelchair/buggy friendly path. There is also a wildlife pond, bug houses and animal habitats for the children to enhance their knowledge of the natural world around us. We have a ‘Reflection Garden’ providing a quiet peaceful area for children and adults to enjoy, and a picnic area for outdoor learning.

As an academy, we are able to constantly review and adapt the curriculum to suit our learners whilst covering the 2021 Early Years Framework, and the National Curriculum from Year 1 - 6. Across school, children will experience a range of teaching approaches which includes whole class, group or individual teaching depending on their individual needs and the subject being taught.

Holy Trinity have a two form intake with a maximum of 30 pupils per class.
